Person Killed After Car Strikes Tree Near UBS Arena

May 21st, 2022 | Queens, NY: At approximately 2:30 a.m. officers from the 105th Precinct responded to a crash at the Cross Island Parkway and Hempstead Ave interchange where a vehicle accident was reported.

The incident occurred near the UBS Arena. Upon police arrival, officers found a car that struck a tree with significant damage and a fatal occupant at the scene. NYPD officers confirmed the accident to be a “CIS job” and a Collision Investigation Squad was requested to the scene.

The official cause of the crash has yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
