Eight NYPD Vehicles Set Ablaze in Suspected Arson at Brooklyn Precinct

June 12 2025, BROOKLYN, NY A suspected arson attack early Thursday morning destroyed at least eight NYPD vehicles inside a secured police lot in Brooklyn.

The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. in a gated NYPD parking lot near Central Avenue and DeKalb Avenue in Bushwick. According to officials, the blaze engulfed six marked police cruisers and two unmarked department vehicles, including a van. Additional vehicles sustained damage, including shattered windows.

Firefighters from FDNY responded swiftly and extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.

Police believe the fire was intentionally set. Investigators noted the strong odor of gasoline at the scene, indicating the possible use of accelerants


The attack comes amid heightened tensions and Anti-ICE protests citywide, though officials have not confirmed any direct connection to the unrest.


“This was a deliberate and dangerous act targeting our police resources,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “We are taking this very seriously and working closely with FDNY and arson investigators.”
