BREAKING: NYPD Officer Shot in Jamaica Queens

April 5 2023 QUEENS, NEW YORK – Heavy police presence with officers in tactical gear on Queens street after a police officer was shot this afternoon.

Police say that a rookie NYPD officer with less than a year on the job, was shot in his leg near 161st street and Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica neighborhood.

Incident happened around 3 30pm, officer was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in an unmarketable car and one suspect was taken into custody.

Police are still looking for second suspect.
