Bicyclist Hits Pedestrian, Critically Injures Them and Flees the Scene in Manhattan

August 11 2022 Manhattan, New York – A pedestrian is critically injured after a bicyclist struck him and fled the scene in Chelsea on Thursday evening.

Incident happened around 6:40 p.m., at an intersection of West 22nd Street and Eighth Avenue in Chelsea part of Manhattan.

Police say they found a 44-year-old male victim lying in the roadway, with trauma to the head.

Police said that a bicyclist going northbound on Eighth Avenue hit the victim in the intersection, fleeing the scene.

First responders brought the victim to local hospital, he is listed in critical condition.

There are no arrests at this time.
