Armed Standoff after Man Shoots his Superintendent and Starts Shooting from Apartment Window in Queens
November 22 2023 QUEENS, New York – A man has been arrested after reportedly shooting his superintendent and then started firing shots out of a window while barricading himself inside Queens home.
Police rushed to a building in Woodside neighborhood around 11:00 am this Wednesday. A man shot and wounded his building’s superintendent in his torso, police said.
When police arrived on the scene, the 65-year-old suspect started shooting and barricaded himself in his apartment on 54th Street.



Officials said the shooter shot the superintendent on the 2nd floor and then went up to the sixth floor where he hid inside an apartment.
The NYPD held building at gun point, surrounded for three hours, at which point the suspect apparently shot himself in the chest and screamed for help, officials said. The building’s superintendent is at a local hospital, he is expected to survive.
