“No Kings” Protests Erupt Nationwide on Flag Day Weekend and Trump’s Military parade in Washington DC
June 15, 2025 – United States: Demonstrators gathered in cities across the country this weekend under the banner of “No Kings,” a protest movement calling attention to concerns over authoritarianism, militarization, and concentrated political power.
Large crowds marched in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and other major cities on Flag Day, June 14, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and former President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. Protesters carried signs reading “No Kings,” “Power to the People,” and “Democracy, Not Dynasty.” Events remained largely peaceful, though some areas saw heightened police presence and traffic disruptions.
In New York City, officials estimated a turnout of 50,000 people as demonstrators marched from Bryant Park to Madison Square Park. The event featured speeches, music, and calls for democratic accountability.
Separately, an anti-ICE protest was held at Federal Plaza and Foley Square. A large number of officers were deployed, and multiple arrests occurred during the demonstration. Protesters rallied against immigration enforcement and for Gaza.
