1 Person Injured, Shooting Shuts Down Major Deegan Expressway

February 11, 2022 – Bronx, NY: A 44-year-old man was shot while riding passenger in a vehicle traveling southbound on the Major Deegan Expressway.

According to EMS, the injured man with at least one gunshot wound to the back flagged down emergency crews near the ER entrance of Bronx Care Hospital. The victim was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, listed in stable condition treated for non-life threatening injuries

According to police, another vehicle pulled along side the victim and the alleged assailant opened fire from inside of the suspects vehicle, police said.

NYPD shut down the expressway for several hours to conduct an evidence search. As of Friday evening there have no arrests.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
